Virtual Elder Connect Program and Access to Services
Overview:
The Elder Connect Program is a web-based platform that provides information on programs and services seniors can access and involves inter-generational connection.
“Another initiative that the society [The East Shore Community Health Society] is undertaking, is to become part of the Elder Connect Program. Thats something were just getting started with and that is as far as I can determine largely an Internet based program that will provide people with information about what services they can access, what other programs they can access on the east shore.” [Speaker 1]. “And we want to try to have that inter-generational connection too so involve the youth as well to be working with the seniors and supporting them…[That comes out of] Healthy Communities BC so that is an initiative that, thats my understanding, Healthy Community is part of aging well in place provincially.” [Speaker 2]. “And theyve earmarked seven I think tablets, iPads, that are going to be put throughout the community so people can access that.” [Speaker 3].
