Volunteer Run Program Grants Seniors Peace of Mind by Providing Transportation to out of Community Medical Appointments
Overview:
Senior-run program for seniors allows essential travel to and from medical appointments while removing stress from an already stressful situation
In relation to this [services at risk], we were only just discussing or mention a program of volunteers driving patients into Lower Mainland hospitals. And that’s one that has probably half a dozen seniors themselves but is entirely a volunteer-run program. But very active. They’re very busy. And it’s become an essential service. And it particularly affects seniors. If they need to, it’s just that extra stress to be transported, to schedule, to arrange, to stress over a trip for a test or what have you in the Lower Mainland.
